About Us

Be Visible

is a national campaign designed to raise awareness of the reality of injury as the major cause of trauma and death in Canada, and to make Canadians aware that preventing those injuries is the fastest and easiest way to change this reality.

This personal commitment can take many forms—from making sure that all outside gear is visible when it is dark, to taking a stand for safety around the dining room table or in public policy debates.

Be Visible is about commitment and culture change, and this change starts with one person in one community deciding that he or she can make a difference and that that difference is worth taking public—becoming visible.

Together, on October 7 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, five leading organizations signed a Declaration asking all Canadians to mobilize to  reduce the number and severity of injuries for all Canadians - including their own families and loved ones.  To see that in full, click Be Visible Declaration

Be Visible is an initiative of the major National Injury Prevention Organizations in Canada and it is a public affirmation of the power of collaboration as we all face the same challenge of encouraging Canadians to take a personal stand in support of their safety and well-being.

Be Visible invites every Canadian to take a personal stand on the challenge of preventing injury and to make that stand a public one—to be visible about doing so.
